In eighteenth-century Europe, “the East” existed as a soft mirage—an imagined dream shimmering through silk and porcelain. From a twenty-first-century Chinese gaze, I refract that vision back upon itself. This look layers two silks: an inner embroidery like the texture of a distant memory, and a blush-pink organza that rests against the skin with quiet warmth. The traditional princess line is deconstructed into separate panels, re-linked by Chinese knots, as if memories and identities were being rewoven through time.
