This collection explores the relationship between space, garment, and the body through the language of bespoke tailoring. Starting from traditional suiting, I deconstruct and reinterpret classic tailoring elements through ideas of gender fluidity, psychological space, and spatial perception.
The project focuses on familiar symbols in tailoring, such as lapels, shoulder structures, and proportions, and questions the meanings and identities attached to them. By taking apart and rebuilding these elements into a new design system, the collection creates changing relationships between the garment, the body, and the surrounding space.
Through this reconstruction, the work invites viewers to reconsider why certain garments are traditionally connected to specific genders, identities, or social roles, and how clothing can create new ways of understanding space, identity, and the body.
